It’s official: the Alpine Ski World Cup races to be held in Sestriere 10 and 11

It’s official! Next winter, Sestriere will host a stop at the Alpine Skiing World Cup. On the occasion of the FIS Congress, held in Milan on 25/26 May, the final 2022/2023 Alpine Ski World Cup race calendar was published.

The Sestriere appointment has been scheduled on December 10 and 11, a whole weekend devoted to women’s technical disciplines. The women’s giant slalom will be held on Saturday, followed by the women’s slalom the following day.

The race will take place on the famous Kandahar Giovanni Alberto Agnelli slope, which has hosted numerous major sporting events.

“We are very satisfied with this high award – comments Gualtiero Brasso, President of the Organizing Committee of Sestriere – and we thank FIS and FISI for their trust. As always, we will work hard to internationally promote the name of Sestriere and the Piedmont Region, which will also support us for this edition. We are very pleased with the dates that we have been assigned because they represent an excellent start to the upcoming winter season.”

This significant, competitive international event made its final stops at the Colle on January 18/19, 2020, and the organizing committee is now hard at work planning the 2022 edition.
