18 Oct Sestriere Audi Fis Ski World Cup press conference
On Tuesday 25 June, the FIS inspection took place in Sestriere in view of the next Alpine Skiing World Cup races that will take place on the Vialattea slopes on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 February 2025.
As with the last edition of the Audi Fis Ski World Cup hosted in Sestriere in December 2022, two women’s races, a giant slalom and a slalom, will be on the programme once again. Those delegates from FIS, FISI and Infront, the company that holds the marketing and TV rights, took part in the usual summer inspection. They met with the board of the local Organising Committee chaired, for the fourth consecutive edition, by Gualtiero Brasso. The visit was aimed at examining in detail all the organisational aspects, from the race track, the classic Kandahhar G.A. Agnelli, to the arrival parterre, and then to all the facilities that will be used to support the event.
The guidelines to be followed were thus defined in order to be prepared for the event and to organise the 2025 edition of the Audi Fis Ski World Cup in Sestriere in the best possible way. It is a great satisfaction for us to once again be able to host such a prestigious event,” commented Gualtiero Brasso, President of the Sestriere Organising Committee. “We thank the FIS and FISI for this high acknowledgement and for the trust they place in our work. We are ready to set the organisational machine in motion again and we are relying above all, as always, on the involvement of all the local institutions and the territory. We are sure that their support will not be lacking, as it is only thanks to everyone’s collaboration that it will be possible to organise a successful event and bring the best image of Piedmont and its mountains around the world.
“We are really happy that the Alpine Skiing World Cup is returning to Sestriere. It will be the highlight of prestigious events that we will host during the coming winter season. Sestriere has won the trust of the FIS and the entire white circus in the field, thanks also to the excellent work carried out by the Organising Committee in the most recent stages of this competition, which was truly excellent in all respects both on and off the piste”. – said Gianni Poncet, Mayor of Sestriere.
